Charlie has touched my life in so many ways and has left his paw print on my heart forever…….
He was a gift from my brother Brian for my sixteenth birthday. I can not thank my brother enough for bringing Charlie into my life, Charlie is the greatest gift I have ever received or ever will. I still remember vividly the first time I saw him, it feels like it was only yesterday. Charlie was a little over four months old and a bundle of black fur; he took to me right away and became my right hand man. We spent many a days going for bike rides, hiking and doing chores around the farm. He may not be a show dog, but he is special and remarkable in so many other ways. Throughout life there are many things that happen and people or animals that help to shape you into the person you are. Friends come and go and you face new challenges every day. But one friend has remained constant and true throughout my life and that friend is Charlie. I have cried many tears into his shiny, black coat; he has always known just when I needed him the most.

Charlie

A few years ago Charlie and I were featured on the television show "Animal Miracles" The show retold the true story of how Charlie protected me from being stomped by a bull. He was only a mere 9 months old at the time. The story was called "The Raging Bull" Yet again it was proof of the unconditional love Charlie and I have for one another.

Charlie

As Charlie ages my love for him continues to grow. (LOVE STANDS THE TEST OF TIME) He is a tough old Aussie, who doesn't take to everyone right away, but once he knows you he is sweet and gentle. Charlie loved the farm; he was a natural at herding anything from ducks, sheep, to cattle. I believe that he taught me more than I could have ever taught him. Everyday he would run to the end of the driveway and fetch the paper for my parents. One of his favorite things to do was to run around on the round bails with me and the other dogs.

Charlie is now 10 years young and is enjoying his retirement here in the city with me, my husband Kent and all the other furry friends. I can't imagine my life without my dear friend. I look forward to many more years with this very unique and wonderful boy.
